To be considered for these opportunities, please send a letter of intent (LOI) to Beth Keithly by the Internal deadline.

The LOI for any internal limited submission needs to be a one page document (it may be a bit longer or shorter, but it shouldn’t be longer than a page and a half) that answers the following questions:

  • What is the project you want to propose?
  • Why is it a good project and how does it fit the program you are applying to?
  • Who is on your team?

Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE)–First in the World Program (FITW) — Development

  • Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE)–First in the World Program (FITW) — Development
  • Program description: The FITW program will provide grants to institutions of higher education to spur the development of innovative approaches and strategies that will improve postsecondary educational access and outcomes. The FITW program plays a key role in the President’s plan to make college more affordable for students and families, as it aims to develop an evidence base of effective practices for ensuring that more students can access, persist in, and complete postsecondary study. Successful FITW projects will support greater college affordability for students, through the implementation and evaluation of practices and strategies that have the potential to reduce costs while delivering high-quality academic programs to students. Institutions of higher education or consortia of such institutions are eligible applicants for FITW grants. The department encourage applicants to partner with public and private institutions and agencies that can assist applicants to achieve the goals of their projects.
