Dr. Rudi Fasan received $2,967,188 from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for his research project on Chemoenzymatic Strategies for Molecular Discovery and Asymmetric Synthesis. This five-year award supports the development of innovative chemoenzymatic platforms for discovering natural product–inspired macrocyclic peptides that can selectively modulate complex biomolecular interactions.
This research project also advances engineered enzymes capable of performing highly selective, asymmetric chemical transformations using sustainable biocatalytic approaches. The outcome of this project aim to accelerate drug discovery, enable greener synthesis of complex molecules, expand powerful new tools, and will contribute to advancing the field of Chemistry.
