The City of Richardson and The University of Texas at Dallas have teamed up on a powerful economic development initiative by partnering on a new Headquarters for the Richardson Innovation Quarter (the IQ HQ).

UTD Catalyst, located within IQHQ, is an extension of the UT Dallas campus where:

  • Entrepreneurs launch startups
  • The public engages with top-ranked academic and skill-building programs
  • Industry and academia come together to spark collaboration as well as drive innovation and research
Memberships

Working at UTD Catalyst @ the IQ HQ is about being part of a community. There is no better environment for collaboration and innovation than that which allows someone to get work done while surrounding themselves with like-minded entrepreneurs.

The VDC @ UTD Catalyst accepts high-potential applicants that have a novel product or service that is scalable, addresses a clear market opportunity, and gives the company a sustainable competitive advantage. We focus on supporting the entrepreneurial, early- to mid-stage activities of true startup companies. The selection committee reviews applications and interviews companies to assure that they meet the standards for high-impact science, promising execution, and equally important, fit. Startups must show a willingness and capacity to operate within the VDC-shared community

*Note – At least one team member must be a current student, faculty, staff, or an alumnus/a of any University of Texas System school.

Resident Centers and Venture Partners

The Multi-Scale Integrated Intelligent Interactive Sensing (MINTS) Center will develop and deploy a cost-effective irrigation decision-support tool that uses super-resolution machine learning and remote sensing imagery from satellites, drones, and security cameras. The center will collaborate with municipalities, corporate campuses, and homeowners to save money by optimizing their irrigation water usage.

PHYTunes, Inc. is developing technology enabling Wireless Wireline Convergence (WWC) to deliver seamless 5G and Wi-Fi 6 over existing wired infrastructure, enhancing efficiency and security for businesses in the gaming, healthcare, and manufacturing industry.

Marya Leadership Academy

Marya Leadership Academy provides personalized leadership development for entrepreneurs, utilizing both personal and digital coaching

Spoonified

Spoonified leverages AI-powered utensils to monitor eating habits, analyze nutritional content, and provide feedback for mindful eating.

Mia

Mia Labs’ AI for auto dealerships streamlines customer interactions by providing vehicle information, scheduling appointments, and integrating with existing CRM and inventory systems.
