Congratulations to Dr. Bryan Black for his National Institute of Health (NIH) award for hiPSC-based DRG Tissue Mimics on Multi-well Microelectrode Arrays as a Tissue Chip Model of Acute and Chronic Nociception. The project seeks to develop an innovative 3D tissue-chip model of acute and chronic pain using human-derived sensory neurons, immunoreactive support cells, and microelectrode arrays. This fundamentally novel approach will enable moderate throughput, quantitative screening of potential alternative pain treatments as well as mechanistic hypothesis testing.
