Dr. Yun-Ju Chen was awarded $771,653 from NASA for his research on Hemispheric Asymmetries of the Electrodynamic Environment in the Middle and High-latitude Ionosphere. Dr. Chen’s research will focus on identifying systematic variations in the ionospheric potential distribution across the auroral zone in each hemisphere that are related to systematic variations in the average energy and energy flux of the precipitating particles. The project will advance our understanding of interhemispheric asymmetries in ionospheric electrodynamics.
