Suppose you are a bioengineering researcher looking for a unique funding opportunity. In that case, you should attend a live webinar on The Lyda Hill Biomedical Innovation Fund. This award opportunity aims to accelerate the work of The University of Texas at Dallas and UT Southwestern research teams, who demonstrate the strong potential to translate and commercialize their work. It is anticipated that two awards will be given!

According to the organization: “Lyda Hill Philanthropies encompasses the charitable giving for founder Lyda Hill and includes her foundation and personal philanthropy. Our organization is committed to funding transformational advances in science and nature, empowering nonprofit organizations, and improving the Texas and Colorado communities. Because Miss Hill has a fervent belief that ‘science is the answer’ to many of life’s most challenging issues, she has chosen to donate the entirety of her estate to philanthropy and scientific research.” You can find out more here.

Our UT Dallas is fortunate that Lyda Hill is committed to funding game-changing advances in research in Texas. Awards from the Lyda Hill Biomedical Innovation Fund will be given to the two teams with the best chances of being translated and commercialized. A PI/co-PI with a primary appointment at UTSW and a PI/co-PI with a primary appointment at UT Dallas must be on project teams. Award winners must agree to pursue and accomplish commercialization milestones within the project’s 12-month time frame.
