The National Association for Broader Impacts (NABI) Broader Impacts Working Group has developed a guiding document for the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) broader impacts (BI) criterion. Released on December 8, 2015, this document exists to assist NSF program managers, proposal reviewers, and review panels in evaluating the BI component of NSF proposals and to assist proposers with developing their broader impact plans.

While it is unclear what the overall impact will be within the NSF, it does offer quality questions that proposal writers should use when developing their Broader Impact plans.
