Established in 2000, ABP serves approximately 160 students each year. Most come from urban neighborhoods in the Dallas area and are the first in their families to attend college. Geared toward high-performing first-generation students who graduate from Dallas urban school districts, the Academic Bridge Program (ABP) helps students transition from high school to college.
The program provides scholarships, advising, mentoring, and tutoring to help students graduate from UT Dallas.
High school students who are selected for ABP begin their college career at UT Dallas during the summer following their high school graduation.
