Dr. Hongbing Lu received $720,000 from the University of Colorado at Boulder for his research on the Center for Micromorphic Multiphysics Porus and Particulate Materials Simulations with Exascale Computing Workflows. The project focuses on characterizing materials of significant importance identified in the project at different scales. Dr. Lu and his team will conduct a Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) experiment, Taylor anvil high-speed impact experiment, and the Taylor anvil impact of porous cellular foams.
