I have access to neither BSB nor NSERL, but I would like to visit someone in one of those buildings. What do I do?
You must sign in at the security guard desk in the designated building with a valid picture ID. You will receive a visitor’s badge that must wear at all times while in the building. The guard will contact the person you are visiting to escort you throughout the building. Upon exiting the building, you must return your visitor’s badge to the security guard desk.
I have a visitor visiting me and I am unable to escort them, what should I do?
If you will not be available, you can provide your visitor with another contact person to be notified when they arrive or provide the guard with a second contact information. Please feel free to contact the BSB guard at x7204 or the NSERL guard at x5741.
I am a PI who resides in NSERL/BSB, I would like to have outside students meet me in my office.

If you would like to reserve a conference room, please contact your department delegate for room reservations.
When am I required to submit the Event Reservation Form vs. Event Registration Form?
The event reservation form is required for any meetings or events in BSB or NSERL in which guests without building badges are in attendance. In these cases, the organizer must submit the Event Reservation Form and include their list of attendees. If this is not included, your guests will need to sign in as visitors and be escorted by their host to the event space. Once complete, forward the form to your department delegate and building security guard.
The event registration form is required for events that supersede the space capacity and/or held in the atrium or outside spaces. In these scenarios, the department will be responsible for requesting and paying for a public safety officer (PSO) to monitor their event.
PLEASE NOTE: Events conducted on the lawn or in the courtyard of BSB will most likely require a PSO based on the scope of your event.
The Event Reservation Form has a section to list all the attendees, what if it is open to the public?
Any public events will not require a list of attendees as long as that option was selected on the Event Reservation Form at the time it was turned in.
