This Lab to Launch session titled, “Technology Commercialization in Texas,” features a panel of speakers who discuss technology commercialization and the current Texas market
Speakers:
Christy Cardena: Christy is a Managing Partner at Ecliptic Capital, running Investment and Research for the venture capital fund in Austin, TX, and fueling innovation across emerging hubs. Christy is a believer in entrepreneurship as a means for social mobility. Christy is a CPA and has nearly a decade and $12 billion in investment banking and private equity transaction experience. She is intimately familiar with both economic and technological transformations, having witnessed firsthand both the 2008 credit crisis and the ongoing energy revolution as the world transitions from fossil fuels to clean energy. Christy is investing in similar transformations across many sectors, all in support of a better future. Christy dedicates herself to entrepreneurship, sustainability, social good, diversity and all things woman.
Adam Lipman: Adam has a diverse background that spans multiple industries. He spent over a decade with one of the worlds largest biotech companies as both a technologist and a leader of a global team. Most recently he spent two and a half years as Chief Operating Officer for one of the top mobile software development studios in the world. While there he led this game changing software development company to new heights and helped shape the digital presence of many of the worlds leading brands. Adam holds a BS in Molecular Biology and an MBA from UC Davis. Currently Adam is the Managing Partner at Ecliptic Capital and Optimal Symmetry.
Brent Schultze: Brent is the Director of the UT Dallas Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC), and has been with the office since its inception in 2008. He holds an MBA with a concentration in entrepreneurship from UT Dallas and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. Brent has extensive experience in IP management, new technology translation/commercialization, license/contract negotiation, business plan development, and startup mentoring. He also has experience in semiconductor fabrication processes/equipment, product development methodologies, mechanical design, and manufacturing processes.
Natalie Pazera: At the Dallas Regional Chamber, Natalie serves as the connector of corporations, entrepreneurs, investors, and educators with the goal of catalyzing innovation across DFW. She also helps strengthen Dallas-Fort Worth’s case as a relocation site by presenting prospective companies with an overview of the innovative entities, programs, and projects that thrive in the area. Natalie is part of the organizing body for the Venture Dallas summit. Natalie previously worked at a sales and marketing outsourcing and advisory agency. She was responsible for growth strategies and execution on behalf of middle-market companies across a spectrum of industries. She has also worked at a technology startup accelerator investing in early-stage B2B companies where she managed corporate partnerships and investor relations. Natalie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing from Baylor University.
