Raising money may be required to take a startup’s product to market. You may take advantage of funding from the university or pursue external funding. 

Enabled by support from the State of Texas National Research University Fund (NRUF), the Office of Research and Innovation funds several seed grant initiatives. While each program is designed to support different opportunities, they all share the goal of growing the quality and quantity of research at UT Dallas. 

Internal Funding 

UT Dallas Seed Fund
Seed Fund established exclusively for UTD students, faculty, and alumni to provide early stage funding. 

UTDiscovery Award
Designed to reward the contributions and facilitate the entrepreneurial development of undergraduate researchers at the university.

Big Idea Competition
Annual pitch competition hosted by the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UT Dallas open to students, faculty, and alumni.

CometX / GalXc Accelerators
Experiential programs that provide education, training, and mentorship in preparation for the launch of a new business concept.
